Concorde Specialty Gases was contracted by E-Beam to recover approximately 1,100 pounds of SF6 gas from Nexans Aerospace’s 1.5MeV Dynamitron Electron Bean Accelerator. Nexans Aerospace has been operating in Elm City since 1956, and have had to close this facility and sold their equipment to E-Beam. The Dynamitorn was not easily accessible and Concorde had to use 175 feet of hose. Concorde recovered 1,079.2 lbs. of SF6 gas. The gas was transferred back to our main facility and recycled/remanufactured and sent to E-Beam facility in Ohio to be used in other Dynamitron Accelerators.
